Lesson 9B: E-mail continued -- Be sure to do Lesson 9C next.

Use Email Tutorials

Now that you have a free Yahoo e-mail account, spend some time looking over the Yahoo tutorials by going to http://help.yahoo.com/us/tutorials/mail/index.html. Yahoo's tutorial window is shown below. Learn enough from the tutorials so that you will be able to send and receive e-mail using your Yahoo account. If you signed up instead with Excite or Hotmail, you will find on their sites a Help or Tutorial link that will give you information similar to what is provided by the Yahoo tutorials.

Send message to another student

  1. Now exchange Yahoo e-mail addresses with other students in the class. Your instructor may distribute a list of student Yahoo addresses.
  2. Next, send an e-mail message to another student in the class. As the subject of your message, use "testing." Your message may simply read, "I am testing to see if my Yahoo e-mail message is getting through." The window of your message should look similar to the one below.
  3. Then click on your Send button.
  4. Wait a few minutes, and then check your Yahoo mail to see if you have received a message from another student in the class.
