This, our third year actively supporting "The Boys
from Egan Cottage," has again given our Clearwater Unit
a real purpose consistent with our goals as retired educators
from across New York State.
The Florida Sheriff's Youth Ranch's Egan Cottage
at Safety Harbor has been selected for the third year as beneficiary
of our charitable giving program. The Ranch, located on Enterprise
Road east of McMullen-Booth, provides a temporary residence
for young men from around the State in need of a better opportunity
to mature into law-abiding, productive young adults.
Egan Cottage provides a stable home for boys ages 12 to 17,
guided by their "cottage parents," Carl and Laurie
Eichar. Those who attended our March picnic luncheon witnessed
the generosity of our members as another check was presented
to Egan Cottage
More than $3.000 contributed
With more than $2,000 in cash and another $1,000 in gifts
having already been given to both the cottage and the young
men, we have many wonderful, heartwarming indications of the
difference we have made in their lives.
